SPECIAL EVENTS THIS SUMMER
July 17: Go Tournament hosted by the Austin Go Club. We've had several Go tournaments over the years and it's always a pleasure to support this local club.
TRAVEL GAMES
Find small games that can be tucked into luggage or backpacks at our game store in Austin or here in our web store. And a few magnetic ones, like chess, that can make great travel amusements. We don't designate them as a separate section of Travel Games because we have them in all our categories.
SUMMER WEDDINGS
Games for 2 seem appropriate for weddings, so consider backgammon, attractive playing cards, or layered dominoes. In the store we have attractive Syrian inlaid backgammom sets and elegant chess sets which make memorable wedding gifts. Yes, we also have people come in with board game lists from the happy couple! And we try our best to find them.
SUMMER ANNIVERSARIES
If it's time for weddings, it's also time for anniversaries! Games for 2 might rekindle togetherness. And for 5th Anniversaries you might consider wood games or wood puzzles.
NEW BOARD GAMES TUESDAYS & FRIDAYS
Our contemporary board games and card games are so popular that we have now split our restocking them into 2 days! We have deliveries on Tuesdays and Fridays from our local supplier! As always, we will get newly released pre-orders along with our fresh supply of usual stand-bys. The games are generally processed and ready for purchase after 5:00 Tuesday or Friday evenings.

NEW PUZZLES
Every week you are apt to find new jigsaw puzzles and other types of puzzles arriving at our store. We order puzzles from at least a dozen companies, and some of them at least once a month. This means puzzles are being added to our puzzle sections frequently. As we always say, we have more in the store than we have on the web site! Come see what's new this week!
NEW TRADITIONAL GAMES
Every week we get shipments from suppliers that might include mah jong sets, chess pieces and chess boards, backgammon attaches, go sets, playing cards or card accessories like card trays or card holders, cribbage boards, dominoes, dice, and more!
HISTORICAL MINIATURES
We carry lots of historical miniatures-- metal figures, paints, terrain, military history books, rules, etc. Check out our companion site Historical Miniatures.

  WEDNESDAY DICE, PAWN, & CHIP ORDERS
Every Wednesday, we place an order with Koplow, a provider of dice, pawns, small poker chips, and small transparent chips, and many other game token bits. Depending on their work-load, the order takes 1-2 weeks to get delivered to us. Let us know by noon CST Wednesday if there is something you want from them, and we'll do our best to add it to that day's order if we don't already have it in stock.
SECURE SITE
We are a secure site, which is noted when you begin payment options. After we retrieve information from our secure server, we manually enter it into the credit card machine just before shipping. If we encounter any problems with product availabilty, charging a credit card, or shipping information, then we'll let you know via email or phone.
YOUR PRIVACY
We do not sell nor share your information with anyone else. Any payment and shipping print-outs go into files away from the store. In 7 years, they will be destroyed.
 THE SAFETY OF CHILDREN
There have been new regulations to the game and toy industry to protect children ages 12 and under.
Items are tested for dyes, types of plastics, magnets, small removable choking parts, etc.
New warning labels are to be attached.
Testing results are available on manufacturing web sites.
If you have concerns, let us know and we can give you the name of the manufacturer. If their results are not on their website, contact us and we'll see what we can do to get you the information.
An economic result is higher costs for games and puzzles.
A social result is that some items are discontinued because manufacturers cannot afford to test them.

Support your local independent, Mom & Pop stores! Most of us really like what we sell-- it's not just an item number! And our staff may be more helpful than the Big Places.
